Reshaping company values for our next chapter

At Catalyst, we have always known that our employees are our greatest strength. From the days as a startup specialist bridging lender with 5 employees in the corner of a room, into a team of soon-to-be 34 (and counting!), we have managed to keep the family-like feel. As the company continues to grow, we wanted to make sure that our company values still reflect who we are today, as well as the direction we are heading in.

There are a lot of exciting things afoot at Catalyst, and with that comes a lot of change. Rather than setting new values from the top down, we decided to get everyone from the company involved through some interactive strategy sessions in a fun and creative space (with many post-it notes!). As well as a big company update and full SWOT analysis, the team shared ideas, experiences, and honest feedback about what they feel make Catalyst unique, and each gave one word to describe our culture. These sessions gave everyone a voice and created a safe space for discussions around how we want to be known moving forwards into our next chapter.

The result of these sessions is going to be a set of refreshed and holistic company values that truly represent Catalyst in this transitional phase and can be demonstrated through everything that we do. The aim is that they help us support our customers, guide our decision making to ensure the best outcome for our brokers/borrowers and stakeholders, and promote collaboration with each other. By involving the whole team, we hope that we have created a shared sense of ownership of the company values that will continue to shape our future as we grow and help keep the close-knit team that makes Catalyst a great place to work.
