Catalyst volunteers return for another Bournemouth beach clean
Catalyst’s commitment to supporting the local community continued today as members of the team supported the BCP Council for our second beach clean of the year on Bournemouth Beach.
The team were treated to excellent weather throughout the morning, with plenty of sunshine making the clean up even more enjoyable. It provided the perfect opportunity to spend time outdoors and make a positive contribution to the local community.
While the busy summer season may be over and the beach a little quieter, litter remains a persistent issue along the coastline. Throughout the clean-up, the team collected a variety of items, including broken glass, cigarette ends and bottle caps. There were also a few unexpected discoveries hidden amongst the sand, such as a t-shirt, buried beach toys and even some loose change!
Speaking on his experience, Ollie Jackson, Internal BDM, commented:
“I really enjoyed this morning, it was so nice to have the sun beaming on us. It was great to be involved in some volunteering, especially to help the local area.”
Jade Burden, Operations Project Manager, added: “I really enjoyed taking part in the beach clean. It was great to spend time outdoors while making a positive contribution to our coastline. Seeing the amount of litter collected was a reminder that small actions can make a real difference when people come together.”
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the clean-up and helped make a positive impact on our local coastline.
